German Presidency of ACA-Europe 2018-2021
The German Presidency of the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions in Europe (ACA-Europe) began on 15 May 2018 and ended on 31 May 2021. During the German Presidency, the President of the Federal Administrative Court, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Rennert, also held the position as President of ACA-Europe. He represented the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions in Europe externally and internally, i.e. he maintained contacts with the bodies of the European Union, international partners as well as member courts and was responsible for several technical seminars. The Presidency was supported by the Board of ACA-Europe and the General Secretariat of the Brussels-based organisation.
Topics of the German Presidency
Six seminars were held during the German Presidency: one in Dublin and one in Brno as well as four others in Germany or virtually from the Federal Administrative Court. These seminars promoted legal dialogue between the member courts and in relation to the Court of Justice of the European Union. They thus contributed significantly to the European legal community. The seminars were prepared by means of comparative legal questionnaires and were evaluated in a final report. The documents relating to the preparation and follow-up of the seminars can be found on the ACA-Europe website using this link.
